Commonly used Windows Shortcuts

These shortcuts work in most Windows programs.

1. <Ctrl> s – Saves the current document.  If you haven’t already made this one a habit, you should.  This is an easy thing to type while you're figuring out your next line of dialogue.  It might save your work the next time your battery dies or someone trips over your power cord.

2. <Ctrl> z - Undo.  Don't waste time going to the menu.  Type this and undo your last action.

3. <Ctrl> o - Open a document

4. <Ctrl> n - Open a new document

5. <Windows key> e - Open Windows Explorer

6. <Windows key> d - Show desktop

7. <Windows> m - Minimize all windows

8. <ctrl> <shift> > (greater than sign) to increase font size one point

9. <ctrl> <shift> < (less than sign) to decrease font size one point
