What are
spiders?
Search
engines have spiders (i.e. robots, bots) that search
your site to look for content. They look for
content, keywords, links, how many people are visiting your site,
and a bunch of other things that only the search engines
know.
Besides
unique content that is fresh and frequently updated,
spiders like seeing a sitemap that can point them to all
the pages on your site. It's not a bad idea to
have both an .html version (that visitors to your site
can click on and view) and an .xml version just for
spiders.
Also,
keep in mind that as long as there is at least one link
to each of your pages and at least one link from an
external page, spiders will eventually find and index
your site. Their job is to find information and
they're very good at it.
If you
have more questions, ask your website designer or SEO
expert.
