"Diane Whiddon-Brown is an intuitive
designer. It was as if she were running around in my head finding things
I didn't even know were there. Excellent work!"

"I'm absolutely thrilled
with my new website....
Diane was a dream to work with. I couldn't
recommend her more highly."
-award-winning author Margaret Watson
"Diane is very easy to work with, and she is very patient with me. I
couldn't give her much of an idea of what I wanted because I didn't
know, but she coached me and then gave me several prototypes to see what
in each of them I liked and didn't like.
She made it all so easy for me and did it much faster than I
expected.
She's responded quickly to all my requests for tweaking the site to get
it just the way I want it.
And her design? Wow! I'm thrilled with it."
- writer Karalee Long
"I'm thrilled by the internet presence Novel Website Design created for
me! It made my promotional life so much easier....it seemed like just a
few questions and I had my fantastic new site up for the world to see.
Diane listened to what I wanted and created something even better than I
could envision. Would I recommend Novel Website Design? In a heartbeat!"
- author Libby McKinmer

Author A. R. Silverberry
I was so excited to create this young adult fantasy website for author
A. R. Silverberry. The magnificent scenery in the header sets the
stage for the fantasy writing and I tweaked the colors so that they'd
echo the cover design of his first release, Wyndano's Cloak.
Some elegant scroll work that I treated with a golden color gradient and
embossing completed a site that transports the visitor to a faraway
fantasy land as surely as the author's fiction.
Author M. L. Guida
When writer M.L. Guida told me that she wanted a sexy,
pirate website to reflect her steamy paranormal romances, I almost
didn't know where to begin! But, after adding two faces with
steamy glances to the visitor and a naked torso and full moon and skull
and crossbones, I knew I had the right tone. After that, a gradual
gradient to the bottom of the ocean where a treasure chest awaits made
this design one of my favorites.
Author Karalee Long
I love Karalee's website. The blood-red banner,
the speeding traffic, and the moonlight shining through the creepy
forest conveys the action of her romantic suspense stories, but also an
element of the paranormal romance she's going to start writing soon.
And the woman in the flowing dress and the couple embracing in the
streetlight hint at the romance. A gorgeous color scheme and the
Colorado mountains in the background complete the look.
Author Boyd Morrison
I'm so proud of this site for several reasons. First, Boyd writes
all different kinds of adventure thrillers and I needed to design the
graphics to convey a broad range of suspense. I love the starkness
of the road speeding by and the storm up ahead combined with the slick,
steel font. Boyd in a leather jacket and the brushed steel frame
complete a fast-paced fiction author's site.
Boyd wanted book covers to advertise his three manuscripts on Amazon's
Kindle and on his website. Each cover was specifically designed
for each book, bringing in elements of the story and trying to convey
the suspense of each fast-paced plotline.
Broken Mirror by
Justin Holley
Manuscript Cover Design
This is simply one of my favorites designs. Not only is
it just creepy, but it's also one of my first designs and the
broken mirror aspect used every bit of my then-burgeoning Photoshop
skills. I love it. And I like how the warm, orangey tones of
the fire, the hallway, and the wormhole contrast with the crypt door and
the green of her eyes. I'd like to take credit for planning that
out, but this is one of those designs that just fell together.
Creepy, suspenseful, gorgeous.
Spirit
Asylum by Justin Holley
Manuscript Cover Design
This is another one of my favorite designs. Everything from the
shadow of the creepy girl in the corner to the skulls gathered in the
river at the bottom of the image convey the scary story
setting. And that girl? I would so not want to meet
her in a dark alley.
Path to Popular by Sara
Daniel Cover Art
Because of the popularity of her first book,
Lane to Heaven,
Sara wrote a novella about two of the secondary characters in that novel
and released it as an Amazon short story, so she needed a cover design
for the Amazon website.
The font easily conveys that this is a young adult story, and I love the
contrast here between the title and the solitary image of the girl
walking down a wooded path alone.
I love to design banner ads. It's always a challenge to deliver a
message in such a small space, but I typically let book cover designs or
website graphics echo through each ad. Add some artful, catchy
text and you've got a great way to advertise your writing or small
business.
Websites for Small Businesses
The Mellon Patch Inn
Cathy Townsend wanted a website to advertise her beautiful bed and
breakfast in south Florida. Once I'd settled on the vibrant color
scheme, I used her gorgeous photography to showcase each of the guest
rooms and the overall beauty of the B&B.
Tanya's Life Coaching
The site I built for life coach,
Tanya Hertel, needed to be warm and welcoming, reflective of the
encouraging and empowering service that Tanya provides to her clients.
After picking the sunrise picture for the index page, the rest of site
just seemed to fall into place, giving Tanya the inviting and
professional feel she wanted.
